Ruby zoisite, also known as anyolite, is a metamorphic rock that showcases the fascinating interplay of three distinct minerals: 1) bright green, chrome zoisite (epidote), 2) ruby (corundum), and 3) dark green to black pargasite (hornblende). This crushed ruby zoisite has a nice even mix of green and black hues that is accented with ruby porphyroblasts. Zoisite's hardness falls between 6.5 and 7 on the Mohs scale, whereas ruby boasts a hardness of 9.
