Crushed Ruby (Corundum) from India, Fine Crush, Powder Size, <0.25mm
Ruby, also known as corundum, is one of the hardest minerals with a Moh's hardness of 9. Corundum comes in a variety of colors, but the most well known types of corundum are ruby and sapphire. The difference between these two minerals is that ruby has more chromium than sapphire, giving it a reddish-purple hue. This particular batch of ruby is from India and is very high quality material. Ruby is also the official birthstone for July.
Our powdered material consists of mostly silt and clay sized particles. Our powders do have a slight grit to them. Please see the corresponding sediment size chart.
