Mookaite is a colorful rock named after its place of origin, near Mooka Creek, in Western Australia. Mookaite is ONLY found in this locality and its unique formation makes this rock VERY special. Unlike chalcedony or chert, mookaite is a silicified sedimentary rock that is composed of millions of microscopic skeletons of a particular protozoan, known as radiolaria. Since this rock is biogenic in origin, mookaite is technically a fossil! This premium crushed mookaite features a vibrant mix of intense red, yellow, and mauve hues, making it a perfect pick for higher-end unique projects.  

MATERIAL SIZE

Our medium material is considered to be sand sized (fine sand to very coarse sand), ranging between 0.25 millimeters to 2 millimeters. This size is great for most woodworking inlays, memorial and resin jewelry, orgonite pyramids, ring inlay, resin molds, mosaics, terrariums, bezel cups, resin art, embellishments, and metaphysical projects.
