Crushed Mookaite from Australia, Fine Crush, Powder Size, <0.25mm
Mookaite is named after its place of origin, near Mooka Creek, in Western Australia. Mookaite is ONLY found in this locality and its unique formation makes this rock VERY special. Unlike chalcedony or chert, mookaite is a silicified sedimentary rock that is composed of millions of microscopic skeletons of a particular protozoan, known as radiolaria. Since this rock is biogenic in origin, Mookaite is technically a fossil!
Our powdered material consists of mostly silt and clay sized particles. Our powders do have a slight grit to them. Please see the corresponding sediment size chart.
