ABOUT LAPIS LAZULI A

Lapis lazuli is a rock that is composed of three important minerals: 1) lazurite (royal blue), 2) calcite (white), and 3) pyrite (metallic gold). This lapis (grade A) is from Afghanistan and has a very deep blue color that is mixed with dark royal blue and white hues. This material darkens and deepens when the stone is wet - it is absolutely gorgeous and will give your projects that special "pop", while still being affordable.

Our lapis lazuli A has more calcite (white) than our crushed Lapis AA or AAA products, with approximately 25-40% calcite and 60-75% lazurite. This dilution makes the lapis powder slightly less rich in color compared to the Lapis AA and Lapis AAA powders, but way more affordable in price.

MATERIAL SIZE

Our powdered material consists of mostly silt and clay sized particles (<0.25mm). Our powders do have a slight grit to them. Powdered minerals are great for filling in small cracks or voids, orgonite pyramids, resin molds, memorial and resin jewelry, ring inlay, resin art, and creating textured paints and pigments. This material is also a great gift for makers looking for unique supplies or reiki practitioners that enjoy top quality crystal powders.

Not completely finished with this project yet (needs more sanding and polishing) but so far this is looking great. I use the products I buy from Makers Minerals for wood inlay, and have used some for inlay in ceramic sculptures. She always has what I’m looking for, plus things I’m not looking fit but decide I need. Shipping is always very quick.
