Crushed Blue Kyanite (Grade A) from Brazil, Coarse Crush, Gravel Size, 4mm - 2mm in Width, 2cm - 0.5cm in Length
Kyanite is a blue, fibrous metamorphic mineral that forms in distinctive thin blades. This mineral only forms under high pressure within the Earth's crust, which can tell you A LOT about the tectonic history of an area. Because kyanite crystallizes as thin blades, it also crushes up into progressively smaller, elongate crystals during the crushing process.
Our coarse material is considered to be pea-sized gravel, with the average width of the kyanite blades, ranging between 4 millimeters to 2 millimeters. The average length of the kyanite blades range between 0.5 centimeters to 2 centimeters. Please see the corresponding sediment size chart.
