Aventurine is a type of quartz that has many micaceous minerals (mica) included within its crystalline structure. This red aventurine is from Canada and has numerous shimmery mica and iron oxide inclusions. When crushed, the mica  inclusions are much more prominent, making the material look like natural rock glitter.

Our medium material is considered to be sand sized (very coarse sand to fine sand), ranging between 2 millimeters to 0.25 millimeters.
