Calcite is a calcium carbonate mineral that can come in a variety of different colors depending on which trace elements are present. For blue calcite, the trace element is copper. Calcite is a relatively ubiquitous mineral on Earth and is one of the softest minerals, with a Moh's hardness of 3. This particular crushed calcite has a light blue hue and is sourced from Mexico.
