Calcite is a calcium carbonate mineral that can come in a variety of different colors depending on which trace elements are present. For blue calcite, the trace element is copper. Calcite is a relatively ubiquitous mineral on Earth and is one of the softest minerals, with a Moh's hardness of 3. This particular crushed blue calcite is sourced from Mexico and the powder has a white hue once crushed. 

MATERIAL SIZE

Our powdered material, consisting predominantly of silt and clay sized particles (<0.25mm), has a subtle gritty texture. Powdered minerals are great for filling in small cracks or voids, orgonite pyramids, resin molds, memorial and resin jewelry, ring inlay, resin art, and creating textured paints and pigments.
