▏ABOUT ⧫ RUBY▕

Ruby, also known as corundum, is one of the hardest minerals with a Moh's hardness of 9. Corundum comes in a variety of colors, but the most well known types of corundum are ruby and sapphire. The difference between these two minerals is that ruby has more chromium than sapphire, giving it a reddish-purple hue. This particular batch of closeout ruby features an even mix of reddish-purple and red hues with minor amounts of oxides, quartz, and host rock. Ruby is also the official birthstone for July.

▏MATERIAL ⧫ SIZE▕

Our medium material is considered to be sand sized (very coarse sand to fine sand), ranging between 2 millimeters to 0.25 millimeters. This size is great for most woodworking inlays, memorial and resin jewelry, orgonite pyramids, ring inlay, resin molds, mosaics, terrariums, bezel cups, resin art, embellishments, and metaphysical projects.
